What's that funny looking antenna doing in a gas station parking lot?
This marker has been in place for 40+ years..
it was here before the gas station and surrouding development

PDK's (Dekalb Peachtree Airport) 20L Outer Marker at the
 corner of Holcomb Bridge and Spalding Drive Rd in North Atlanta

Fan markers tell pilots they are a couple of miles from the runway threshold..
when the aircraft flies over the marker, a repeating tone goes off in the cockpit.
This is where the pilot usually lowers his last
 notch of flaps and drops the gear for landing.
